Hello, my name is Taylor.
I am a senior at Grand Valley State University currently perusing a business degree in finance and marketing with an emphasis in sales, as well as a minor in advertising and public relations. After five long, and wonderful years at Grand Valley I will be graduating in April 2014.
Until then, I will be wedding planning. I have been engaged for one of the longest years of my life, and I have nine months to go until the big day. Luckily thanks to Pinterest it’s easy for me to stay busy these days.
In addition to gawking over Pinterest’s wedding board I stay busy with Younglife. I have been a Younglife leader at Allendale Middle School for two, going on three, years now. As a Younglife leader I mentor middle school girls, as well as work with a team to plan, promote, and organize activities for clubs we host. It takes up a good part of my week.
The remainder of my spare time goes towards painting. Spacemen, agates, and lions have been a few of my subjects. In the future I hope to sell a few paintings, submit something into Art Prize, but for now I’m happy with just painting.
Since my future as an artist is uncertain I have developed a more viable career option to pursue. I am interested in a career in the marketing world, hopefully somewhere West of here. I have been lucky enough to work as an intern at Gordon Food Service over the past year and gain some experience in a little bit of everything it seems. I have worked within the marketing team, supply chain team, and internal audit team at Gordon Food Service. These opportunities have pushed me towards something a little more creative.
Only time will tell where I end up, but I am sure it will be worth the wait.
